Some Americans may only have learned who Chris Lake with his 2010 remix of Black Eyed Peas’ ‘Rock That Body’. In which case that means they’d missed his remixes for Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, Sia, The Prodigy, Mark Ronson and Leftfield, as well as his collaborations with Joel Zimmerman AKA Deadmau5. Lake has scored three American dance chart top 10s with his own original productions, and Pete Tong called him the best thing to come out of Scotland since Mylo. His big room anthems have received full support from the likes of Erick Morillo, Armin Van Buuren, Axwell and many others. In short Lake is a DJ who really knows how to work a dancefloor over.

Jesse Rose will be making his third visit to the Avalon in the past 6 months, a dividend of his recent move to Los Angeles. Rose is a pioneering producer, DJ and label boss. In 2005 he founded the label Made To Play, a platform for tracks designed specifically for club use (hence the name). Since then the label has put out more than thirty 12-inches and a couple of mix compilations, launched a monthly residency at Panorama Bar and taken on a group of artists that includes Riva Starr, Oliver $, Idiotproof and Round Table Knights among others. In other words, a whole lot of good stuff.

Berklee College of Music grads, Disco Fries, are an electro-house duo that recently broke onto the international dance music scene, producing a commissioned remix for Flo Rida as well as a single for Jersey Shore’s Situation last summer. The duo have toured their energetic, live set from the east coast to Hong Kong, pumping clubs with hard-hitting electro, which should feel right at home for them at CONTROL.
